The First Step To Doing Everything You Want To Do!

If you’re like me, you have slightly less than a bajillion things that you want to do during the course of your life. For me, there’s an endless list of silly musicals, feature films I want to make with my friends, open a coffee shop called “The Aromadillo”*, and create a miniature golf course where each hole is dedicated to a different serial killer. (I’m thinking of calling it “Slicers!”)But aside from a handful of silly musicals, I haven’t done any of those things. And do you want to know the main reason I haven’t done any of those things?It’s because I haven’t started.

It’s just that simple. To do something, no matter what it is, you have to start.

There can be other reasons that might stop you from doing what you want to do. You might need money. You can’t physically do it. Your idea might be insensitive and in poor taste. But you’ll never know until you start.

And once you start, you’ve got a little thing called momentum. And momentum can solve more problems than duct tape and super glue combined.

So I challenge all of you who are reading this (it would probably be more accurate to say “both of you who are reading this,” but I’m a dreamer.) to start that thing! Start that thing right now!

You know the thing I’m talking about! That secret dream that you just know everyone will think is a bad idea, but for some reason, you’ve been wanting to create that thing. Well, today is the day that you do the first thing to bring your secret dream to life!
